Villa Dark Horse sets course for a hopeful future!

Our brave snails Slimey & Coco, surrounded by turbulent waves, set a steady course towards a hopeful future! All the residents of Villa Dark Horse wish you a healthy, happy and musical year!

Nejburs on tour!

Happy news also about the other brave duo residing in Villa Dark Horse. Nejburs will be performing no less than three times in 2024! On Sunday, 4 February, they will perform during the event Gluren bij de Buren-Utrecht at the address Texel 13 in Lunetten. Look here for the full programme. If you want to come and listen: the Utrecht-Lunetten train station is within walking distance of Texel 13.

Nejburs will also perform at the autumn edition of Gluren bij de Buren on 6 October, but in Houten, Atalantaberm 29.

Art route Voordorps Verbeelding

On Sunday 7 April, Nejburs will perform during the art route Voordorps Verbeelding. Both during Gluren bij de Buren and the art route, Nejburs will play three different sets of about 30 minutes with many new songs, to which the Villa also contributed. You can find a preview on their Youtube channel: Worse, a blues by Villa Het Zwarte Paard, and The one who doesn't sleep: a song by Marco de Fenderman, who bravely moves forward despite a collision with an iceberg!

Changes in the Villa

For the partial redesign of the Villa this time, Ms M took inspiration from, among other things, The Year 1000, a wonderful exhibition at the National Museum of Antiquities, still on display until 17 March. In the Backyard, a Byzantine griffin reigns, in the Library an apostle writes his gospel and the peacock walks in the Vegetable Garden. An eagle from the Roman fort Vechten manages to keep the war Outside from the Orchard. A Leiden lion guards the Art Collection and a Delft parrot the Veranda.

Villa Dark Horse is a non-violence zone and proposes to place this prohibition sign in all war zones.
